MPCOC 1st Annual Chalk Art Festival

A Big Thank You to Minda who's brainchild was the Chalk Art Festival. The youth & others handed out fliers the week preceding to get the word out, while others posted it on online calendars. This was an awesome outreach to the community and a fun time for all who took part. We had over 30 individuals "from the community" (who do not attend with the Murray Park church family) and about as many from our church family, in attendance as well. Several individuals participated in the chalk art drawing portion. We also offered free "4th of July" themed craft booths, headed up by Timbra and manned by Dana, Jerri, Vicky, Amy & Mariby. Lilly, our resident art teacher, did face painting and had a display of art work from her students for a small art show, as well as helped Kathy & Eva do an art demo for the kids. Jim handed out the free hot dogs, while Roger provided the homemade ice cream! Dusty & Glenna judged the art pieces and several won small prizes for various "categories." I know that MANY expressed hopes that this would only be the FIRST Chalk Art Festival, with many years of this great community outreach event, to follow!
